Why Squarespace?

I’ve always been fascinated by technology, and knew my future career would be in the industry, but had no specific plans. I studied Computing with the Open University & in my spare time started picking up some small jobs helping people with their websites via PeoplePerHour. Most of these jobs ended up being Squarespace sites, I’d never used Squarespace before at this point, I was learning as I went and I was absolutely loving it.

I grew to love the platform, it has a great balance of do it yourself but with the bonus ability to customise it further with Custom Code. At the time I didn’t consider that this could be my full time job, it was just a bit of extra cash for the weekends and I was still planning what graduate jobs I’d apply for at the end of my degree. However, as time went on I was getting more and more jobs through PeoplePerHour and also quite a few via word of mouth. I was really enjoying the work and the wide variety of industries the clients I was working with came from.

Alongside Uni & freelancing I was also working part time in an Accountants, but in 2019 I made the big decision to hand my notice in and see how freelancing went full time. I gave myself a deadline of October, if I wasn’t earning enough for this to be viable I would have to look for an alternative job. Well October came and went, and here we are now….

When i’m not working

When I’m not sat at my computer I spend my time walking in the forest, chilling at the beach, digital detoxing whilst camping or playing board games with friends. I also volunteer at my local Scout Group as a Beaver Leader.
