Search Function Shortcut Key In Squarespace

Squarespace have recently made a lot of changes to the menu layout within the Settings Panels. Since this I’m seeing a lot of people unable to locate areas such as the Custom CSS area or Code Injection Areas.

This has also been quite frustrating for designers & developers in the Squarespace Community. Their Blogs, Course Content, Video Tutorials may all now be outdated, pointing you in the wrong direction to find certain settings. Re-filming & re-writing all this content would be very time consuming, with the possibility of Squarespace making further adjustments in the future.

Equally, if you’re relatively new to Squarespace and are using these articles you may be confused as to why your account doesn’t have the Settings laid out in the same way the blogs / tutorials describe. I’ve had people contact me claiming their account doesn’t have a Code Injection area, but it does, Squarespace has just moved it.

Luckily there’s a keyboard shortcut that can help us all out here. If you press the ‘/’ on your keyboard from anywhere within the Squarespace backend you’ll pull up the Search Function. From here you can search for areas such as ‘Code Injection’ or ‘Billing’ to instantly navigate to these Settings. You can also type in a question and click ‘Search for … on Squarespace Help’ which will direct you to any of their Guides that matches your query.

Note that this Search function doesn’t search through the content on your site, instead it is just to search the settings in the backend of your site. To access the search function of your site content you can go to the /search page using yourdomain.com/search.
